Founder’s Note
"I built APW as the firm shaped to what the work actually requires."
— Bill

APW was built around a simple observation: affluent families often have plenty of financial professionals, but no single coordinated picture.

After working with close friends and family in the high-net-worth space, I saw that most wealth management fell into two categories. Investment management, which is fine if that's all you need. Or an over-developed, 120-page financial plan that confuses more than it clarifies.

I started working with a handful of client families on something different. I focused on wealth strategy and vision rather than chasing alpha and the perfect Monte Carlo simulation. A short, integrated report that anyone can pick up and understand — where their wealth is, where it's going, and how the five pillars connect across investments, income, tax strategy, estate coordination, and insurance.

APW doesn't replace the CPA or the estate attorney. It bridges them. It connects what the specialists each do well into a single picture the client can actually hold in their hands and understand.

This isn't a theory I came to recently. After nearly two decades doing this work in different structures — broker-dealer, RIA management, branch manager, multiple practice acquisitions and sales, consulting with other advisors — I built APW as the firm shaped to what the work actually requires.

The operating model

APW is built to work the way the clients I serve actually live.

Strategy meetings happen on video. The Brief itself arrives in your hands — bound, printed, mailed — and the conversation around it is continuous regardless of where either of us happens to be that week. If you're at your beach house and I'm at mine, the work still gets done.

Serving fewer families, deeply, does not require an office full of people, and it does not require either of us to be in a specific zip code. It requires the work to be good. The rest is logistics.

APW is built around that vision. Nothing else.

Strategy meetings happen virtually.
The Brief arrives bound, printed, and mailed.
The relationship is continuous, not location-dependent.
